김치찌개 (Kimchi jjigae, kimchi stew)

First~, Because I am in Las Vegas, All Ingredient is also from Las Vegas. You can do also!
Yep.

 

Ingredient

Pork (I bought pork shoulder)
Leek ( spring onion ), 

Onion,

Garlic

Salt,

Chili pepper powder,

Kimchi,

Used water from washing rice (or just Water)

 

 

 

1. cut onion and pork~

 

2. Fry the pork with salt~

It's seasoning for this pork as well as this stew~ Also, because of salt, water will get out from the pork and oil also.
and please, put into the pork when the pan is enough heated.

 

3. Put Chili pepper powder~

But, If any oil didn't come out fome the pork, Please add so little oil and fry the pork and chili pepper powder.
This step is to make Chili oil. 

 

 

4. Pour used water from washing rice in the pot.

It's to prevent the powder from being burned. If it is burned, it could mess up taste of this stew.

Pour the water as much as the pork can be submerged, but just 2/3 or 1/2. It's enough to prevent being burned.

 

5. Add Kimchi

 

6. Put Onion, Leek, Garlic into the pot.

 

7. Pour used water from washing rice

 

8. Boil~ So, Kimchi Stew is done~

 


Used
 water from washing rice can reduce smell of pork. but if you don't have, you can use just water.
